College Day is a community-wide college-going effort spearheaded by the volunteer-led First Generation College Attainment Coalition. The goal of College Day is to create a college-going culture in Santa Clara County and help our children and youth plan and design their path to college. This happens when educators, youth workers, parents and other adults engage children in conversations, lessons, and other college-promoting activities.
Last year, more than 30,000 students, teachers, parents and community leaders participated in College Day. People from all walks of life to shared their journey with children, students, and co-workers, to celebrate, inspire, and promote college aspirations for all Teachers and administrators who participated in College Day 2011 described it as “awesome”, “fun” and “inspirational.”
